AUDITION TECHNIQUES & COLD READS
(Scenes & Commercials) TWO SUNDAYS June 9th from 10am - 3pm and June 23rd from 10am - 3pm (Break for lunch) Old Town Scottsdale Location This two-day workshop will not only focus on the “mechanics” of cold reading, but will also include techniques that will help students reach the “heat” of dynamic and organic acting. The two-day workshop is geared to enhance auditioning skills of both the novice and seasoned actor. Instruction and direction are given based on the skill level of each student because no two students are exactly alike. Whether you’re new to the business of acting or a seasoned pro, this workshop will have something for you. Flex your acting and auditioning muscles in a safe and nurturing environment. Classes will focus on Trust, Connection and Communication. Students will use various GUT REACTING™ tools and exercises to reach a deeper level of understanding of their characters and to get “in the moment" quicker than ever. This class also teaches young students to "listen" and "hear", and helps them become increasingly aware of non-verbal communication. As with all classes we offer at Waymire Studio, it is fun and informative and offered in safe and nurturing environment. (Look for the red and blue masks below for a special deal!)

Students will learn the business of commercial acting, including but not limited to commercial cold reads and auditioning. Students will drill cold reads each week and work on a monologue as well. Each student will prepare to audition for a local agent. Final work, which will include a prepared commercial and monologue, will be submitted to agents for possible representation at the end of the course.

GUT REACTING™
is a unique technique styled to bring out the best performances in actors at every level and medium. Classes will focus on Trust, Connection and Communication.Students will use various GUT REACTING™ tools and exercises to reach a deeper level of understanding of their characters and to get “in the moment" quicker than ever. Unlike traditional improvisation or scene study, this class is not only a method moving actors to think on their feet, but to feel and connect completely using the “whole actor concept”. The goal is to bring into alignment the heart, mind and spirit while guiding students to reach a deeper level of emotion within themselves, and a higher degree of connection with their scene partners. This class is recommended for anyone - not only actors - who have a desire for a deeper level of communication with everyone they encounter. (Perfect for teachers, attorneys, doctors, parents, etc.) As with all of the classes we offer at Waymire Studio, it is fun and informative and offered in safe and nurturing environment.

Class Attendance and Tuition
Once registered and classes begin, attendance is not optional. Successful completion of any class is based on attendance, timeliness and professional ability, in addition to a student’s growth and ability. Outside preparation is required in some classes. Excessive absence or tardiness is grounds for dismissal. If you are dismissed due to excessive absence or tardiness, NO REFUND will be given. Refunds: There are no refunds once the session has begun. No exceptions.
(50% refund for cancellation up to 72 hours prior to class on all classes where full price tuition has been paid)

Audit Policy
Due to the intense nature of some of our classes, we do not open our classes up to the “general public”. We assure our students a safe working environment and encourage openness and risk taking in the work. In order to maintain the integrity of our classes, we require a $45 fee to audit. We have found that the integrity of our classes is better served by only allowing potential students who are willing to commit by way of payment to audit. Audit fee is not refundable and cannot be applied to any tuition. It is our goal to keep our classes affordable for the students who make the commitment for an entire session. There is no audit on first day of any session. Audits are only allowed mid session and only for sessions that are 6 or more weeks long.
Note: There are no audits allowed in any GUT REACTING ™ classes or workshops.
Private Lessons
$75/hr for one hour
$65/hour for 3 or more lessons paid in advance
$55/hour for 6 or more lessons paid in advance
(Semi-Private Sessions Also Available)
*Private sessions are held at WAYMIRE STUDIO for the Performing Arts NW Valley location.
Sessions off property will have an added fee for travel time and expense.
