Linda Waymire, PhD, Facilitator
Linda Waymire is the owner/founder of Waymire Studios in Arizona. She has combined her expertise in the performing and healing arts to share with students her philosophy of “holistic” acting and “connected” living. “There is so much to teach and even more to learn.” Linda’s philosophy is that we must all be constantly learning and training, including the trainers.
Linda has developed a technique for life, GUT REACTING™, which has benefited countless actors and other professionals, as well as parents. Her technique has received rave reviews when students discover an easy and effortless method of “connecting and communicating”. “There was a time when Stanislavski’s technique was groundbreaking. I don’t believe we’ve discovered all there is to discover about acting as we have not discovered all there is to learn about life and our universe. We need to always be thinking outside the box. I believe in rules, of course. But sometimes rules are made to be broken.” …She says with a smile.
Linda has performed in film, theater and commercials, including voiceovers. She is a vocalist and has a passion for singing various music genres including, but not limited to, blues, oldies, classic country and folk.
Friends have often referred to her as being a “Renaissance Woman". Like a rolling stone that gathers no moss, Linda is always finding new ways to perform in a way that makes a difference in peoples’ lives. As an ordained minister, Linda has officiated at weddings and feels blessed to be a part of such a special day for couples. In addition, Linda is a hypnotherapist, specializing in smoking cessation and success building. She also uses hypnosis in her work with actors, musicians and entertainers in order to bring out the best in their performance.
Linda began her career with a goal of “Touching one life at a time through the Arts”, and it has become her studio’s mission. She is often heard saying, “If you leave my studio and you’ve become a better actor, that’s fantastic. My goal, however, is that when you leave here, you’ve become a better human being.” Linda believes in endless possibilities and believes, without doubt, that the world can be changed, one person at a time by just “Doing the right thing, sharing thoughts and ideas and last but not least, LOVE."
